Meet the Team

Meet Dr. Ryan Woods

Dr. Woods chose a career in chiropractic because of the profession’s ability to optimize performance and prevent injury. This was something he discovered firsthand. Dr. Woods raced competitively from his early days at Watauga High School. When he faced some early struggles running at NC State, his running made a huge breakthrough under the guidance of a skilled chiropractor.

Dr. Woods also became fascinated with optimal living. He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer Chiropractic College in Florida, where he studied as many techniques as he could learn. He combines this rich education with years of experience to help his patients. In his practice, he regularly uses the Palmer Package, Active Release Technique, and Graston Technique.

Outside the Office

Outside the office, you can find Dr. Campbell living his philosophy and moving outdoors, whether it’s rock climbing, running, or swimming.

Meet Dr. Matt Campbell

Dr. Campbell was introduced to chiropractic care through a fateful soccer injury:

“A provider greatly helped me get back to the sport when I couldn’t play. He did so by listening to my story and evaluating my movement. He worked on my muscles and showed me how to correct my faulty movement patterns at home. Within 2 weeks, I was back to playing. I thought he was a wizard.”

Wizardry aside, Dr. Campbell combined his keen interests in problem solving and helping people. He studied in Boone at App State where he majored in Exercise Science before graduating with a Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University’s College of Chiropractic in Georgia. He has completed a number of certifications including full body certification in Active Release Technique, Dry needling, FAKTR fascial manipulation, Rocktape and the McKenzie method for the lumbar spine. Throughout practice he also became involved in specific treatment of pregnant women and children.

Dr. Campbell enjoys sharing in his patient’s victories, helping people to become more self-reliant and capable of participating in the activities they love.

“Movement is key to longevity, and in my opinion, a fulfilling life. And chiropractic is the most comprehensive way of restoring movement for non-surgical cases. I am also a huge advocate of patient education. As such, I teach my patients exercises or movements that will help ensure that their complaint remains resolved.”

Ryan Phipps LMBT

Meet Ryan Phipps, LMBT

Ryan focuses on understanding the causes of pain and how to correct them through bodywork. His bodywork toolkit includes myofascial release, neuromuscular therapy, trigger point therapy, range of motion and stretching techniques, and instrument-assisted manual therapy like cupping and gua sha. From “tech neck,” phone, and computer-related neck and back pain to overuse issues from manual labor, Ryan has many approaches to manage common types of pain. He is also passionate about the nature of preventative care and the awareness it brings to the body, particularly how massage therapy addresses the musculoskeletal pain associated with posture, movement, and exercise habits.

Ryan was introduced to bodywork through his time running cross-country and practicing martial arts when a chiropractor and physical therapist helped him through sciatic pain.

“Our bodies tend to be shaped by the stresses that we habitually put them through, and bodywork often teaches a person how to identify and correct those stresses on the body.”
